Senior Hydrogeologist/Engineer.Todd Groundwater, an established leader in hydrogeology and groundwater management, has an employment opportunity in Alameda, California for a Senior Hydrogeologist or Engineer specializing in groundwater. We are seeking a candidate with ten years of relevant experience for a full-time senior level position. This position requires a minimum of a BS in geology, civil engineering, or related field; a masterís degree is preferred.
The Senior Hydrogeologist/Engineer will work in a dynamic, team-oriented, and collegial environment with experienced geologists, hydrogeologists, engineers, and other professionals on a variety of groundwater-related projects. We are looking for a colleague with a positive attitude, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication capabilities. You will have opportunities to participate in technical water resource and groundwater management projects from planning through analysis, presentation, and implementation.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Processing and analyzing hydrogeologic data using spreadsheets, databases, GIS, and other software
- Evaluating hydrogeology, groundwater conditions, water budgets
- Developing and applying numerical groundwater flow and transport models
- Applying sound science to analysis of groundwater issues and development of practical solutions
- Preparing technical reports/memos and presentations
- Participating in client meetings/teleconferences with public and private clients, regulatory agencies, teaming partners, and contractors
Todd Groundwater has a solid client base with projects across California involving sustainable groundwater management planning and implementation, managed aquifer recharge (MAR) investigations, groundwater monitoring programs, water supply and demand evaluations, assessment of potential environmental impacts involving groundwater, and production well siting, design, testing and installation supervision. Working experience in water resource management in Southern California, the Central Valley, and the Central Coast regions is beneficial.
Many of our projects involve numerical groundwater flow and transport modeling on a local or basin scale. Our preferred candidate would have project experience in developing and applying models using MODFLOW, IWFM (C2VSim), or other comparable platforms (e.g., FEFLOW, FEMWater). GIS software and computer programming experience (e.g. Python, FORTRAN) would be ideal.
